Mechanical Control:
  • Small infestations can be controlled by repetitive pulling over several years.

Cultural Control:

Rates for 3-4 Gallon Back Pack Sprayer/Escort or Telar:
    • Add ½ ounce of Escort or Telar to 64 ounces of water plus an ounce or two of Surfactant, plus 1 teaspoon household ammonia (the ammonia will provide complete mixing (solubilization) of Escort or Telar).  Stir mixture, add 8 ounces of this mixture and 3-4 gallons of water in the sprayer.  (Rate is approximately 1 ounce per acre when spraying roughly 2,000 square feet.)  Note:  Mixture is effective for 70 hours.  Do not mix more than you can use in 70 hours.
