Alias: Tamariz ramosissima

Distinguishing features:
(information taken from "Weeds of the West," Revised, 1992)
  • Deciduous shrub growing 5 to 20 feet tall.
  • Reddish-brown bark on saplings turning grayish as plant ages.
  • Leaves are small and scale-like.
  • Flowers are pink to white, blooming from spring through late summer. They are very attractive and from a distance look like pink feathers at the end of the stems.
  • Saltcedar is also known as Tamerisk
