- Removing
plants with a hoe or shovel can be effective.
Place plants (with seeds) in bags and dispose of in a land fill
or burn.

- After
mechanical or chemical control establish desirable vegetation to occupy
the vacant space and to compete with new puncture vine seedlings.

new seedlings appear.

ounce per acre of product.
Time: Apply late fall or late winter pre-emergence
to growth. Needs moisture to activate.

| Rates
for 3-4 Gallon Back Pack Sprayer/2, 4-D: |
- Add 6-8
ounces* of herbicide to 3-4 gallons of water in the sprayer.
Add a couple ounces* of Surfactant, and stir.
NOTE: Be sure always to follow label rates as percent
of active ingredients may vary.

| Rates
for 3-4 Gallon Back Pack Sprayer/Telar: |
- Add ½ ounce of Telar to ½ gallon of water and an ounce or two
of Surfactant (addition of 1 teaspoon of household ammonia will provide
complete mixing (solubilization) of Telar). Stir mixture. Add 8 ounces of this mixture to backpack sprayer
and fill with water. (Rate is
approximately 1 ounce per acre when spraying roughly 2,000 square feet.) NOTE: Mixture
is effective for 70 hours. Do
not mix more than you can use in 70 hours.
