Measures for Hoary Cress

Control: |
- Small
infestations can be controlled by digging and complete plant removal
within a few days after plant emergence – for two to four years.

- Planting
competitive legumes such as Alfalfa can reduce Hoary Cress.
- Moderate
Grazing by sheep will provide some control by lowering weed densities
and preventing flowering.

| Rates
for 3-4 Gallon Back Pack Sprayer/Escort or Telar: |
- Add ½ ounce of Escort or Telar to 64 ounces of water plus an
ounce or two of Surfactant, plus 1 teaspoon household ammonia (the ammonia
will provide complete mixing (solubilization) of Escort or Telar). Stir mixture, add 8 ounces of this mixture
and 3-4 gallons of water in the sprayer.
(Rate is approximately 1 ounce per acre when spraying roughly
2,000 square feet.) Note: Mixture is effective for 70 hours. Do not mix more than you can use in 70 hours
